European Forensic Institute
The European Forensic Institute is a higher education institution based in Malta and officially accredited by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA). The Institute offers Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes aligned with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), enabling students to obtain internationally recognized academic qualifications along with strong, jobready professional skills.
Entirely dedicated to forensic sciences, criminology, and investigative disciplines, the Institute has established itself as a dynamic centre for education, research, and innovation, becoming a key reference point on the European landscape. We offer online and blended programmes designed with flexibility in mind, allowing students to combine online learning with hands-on practical experience in Malta, usually twice per academic year. Our Bachelor’s Degrees:
• BSc in Forensic Science and Criminal Investigation:
A programme designed for those who wish to work on crime scenes, in forensic laboratories, or in investigative settings. The course includes forensic chemistry, crime scene investigation, forensic psychology, ballistics and firearms.
•BSc in Investigative Criminology and Criminal Psychology:
Ideal for those fascinated by the criminal mind and interested in understanding the psychological mechanisms behind deviant behaviour. The programme integrates criminology, psychology, sociology, and investigative methods, preparing students for roles in judicial, correctional, or consultancy environments and crime scene investigation.
Our Master’s Degrees:
• Master’s in Business Management, Financial Crime and Digital Technologies:
An innovative Master’s programme that trains professionals to tackle the challenges of economic crime and digital transformation. Perfect for those seeking managerial roles in investigative, banking, or insurance sectors.
• Master’s in Cyber Security, Digital Forensics and Crime Analysis:
Designed for those who want to become experts in data protection, digital forensic analysis, and cybercrime prevention. Includes modules on ethical hacking, artificial intelligence, and predictive crime analysis.
• Master of Science in Forensic Biology:
A highly specialized programme for those wishing to deepen their expertise in biological techniques applied to investigation, such as DNA analysis, forensic genetics, and molecular biology. Ideal for careers in forensic laboratories, research institutions, or public health.
• Master’s in Forensic Investigative Psychology, Crime Analysis and Criminology:

• Master’s in Crime and Intelligence Analysis:
A specialised postgraduate programme designed to train professionals in advanced crime analysis, intelligence methodologies, and strategic security decisionmaking.
